The verdict and the accused…
June 16th, 2007 by skycliffethe verdict towards the accused
The judge looked askance at the gathering crowd inside the court. “It was a highly sensitive case he was handling. The press had been pressuring him for scoops on the case, but he would not budge an inch for fear of criticisms from the general public. He wanted to play Pilate and wash his hands off the sordid case. But, moral guilt has made him stay on and now comes the day when the decision had to be made. The judge cast a glance at the bedraggled face of the plaintiff. It was Mother Earth, her whole body still bearing the pockmarks of destruction. The judge couldn’t bear to look at her and recall the abuse that she suffered from the hands of the villain. Mother Earth was a horrendous sight. The judge then looked at the accused, emotionless, no pity in his eyes, with a grim, cold face, the judge barged at the gavel to silence the crowd. The clerk of the court then cleared his throat to read the decision of the court. The accused was called to stand & the verdict was read aloud. Nations had testified against him and the accused knew that his case was lost even before it started to be heard. The accused was MAN, as he stood there before waiting for the decision he knew that his fate was sealed. He would be judged GUILTY, beyond reasonable doubt.
